Plan your fuel stop on the road

On a long trip across Quebec, gas prices often vary by more than 15¢/L from one station to the next. Le Prix du Gaz's trip planner pinpoints the stations along your route that are worth a short detour — and the ones that aren't.

Why plan your trip

Prices along your route, not just near you

Instead of searching around a single point, the tool examines every station within a corridor along your full itinerary, from origin to destination.

The exact detour, in kilometres and minutes

For each station, we calculate the extra time and distance versus the direct route. You can see right away whether the savings justify the detour.

Reliable, up-to-date data

Prices come from the Régie de l'énergie du Québec. Stations with stale or never-confirmed prices are automatically excluded from suggestions.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find the cheapest gas station on my route?

Enter your origin and destination in the trip planner. The tool computes your route, finds the stations near it, and ranks them by price and the detour required.

Is the displayed detour accurate?

Yes. The detour reflects the real driving time and distance between your direct route and going via the station, computed from road routing data — not a straight-line estimate.

Which fuel types are supported?

The planner works for Regular gasoline, Super gasoline and Diesel. Savings are calculated based on the chosen type and its corresponding provincial average.

Is the tool free?

Yes, the trip planner is completely free, like everything else on Le Prix du Gaz. No sign-up required.
